How Vieques influenced the history of Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico consists of the main island of Puerto Rico and various smaller islands. The most prominent of these smaller islands lies about 8 miles east of the mainland of Puerto Rico, measuring about 20 miles long and 4.5 miles wide.
