“Ifa for Activists” is an essay intended for publication in an anthology on Ifa and its application for today. After initially being accepted for publication, the essay was rejected at the last minute and I was asked to write a different one. I chose not to and have sat on this essay for more than two years. I present it here for the first time on Black Liberation Media.

Disclaimers and Caveats:

= This presentation is not for rational radicals or materialists, etc. This is an A and B conversation … Please C your way out of it. With love and respect.

= I am a student and an adherent of Afrikan Traditional religion or spiritual systems ATRS

= I am not a priest/ess. I do not divine, prescribe/perform/preside over any rituals

= A lot of this presentation is going to go over some heads, certain words or concepts. I’ll try to answer questions in the chat, but in the interest of time I’m going to skip a few steps. Maybe a lot of steps.

= If YOU are watching this, yes YOU, and you are a student or adherent or initiate or priest/ess of ATRS, I’m quite sure, matta fact I’m positive, you’re going to hear some things you will not agree with. Possibly because this was not the orientation of your god parents or your Oluwos, the people who are your Elders. Or it could be because you just ain’t wit it. Either way, it’s all good.

= The opinions about to be expressed up in here up in here, are mine, Mine, ALL MINE.
